Looking to upgrade me headlights with something better. I have the Catz Hyper White driving lights and They work well. I had a nock off brand of a Hyper white 9004 that I liked really well as far as performance goes but they only lasted 1 year. Tried the "Cool Blue" but they "cool suck"! Thinking about PIAA's either the 9004 65/45W (110/85)SUPER WHT BULB or their NEW 65/45W (120/95)XTREME WHITE BULB. Opinions good or bad would be appreciated.

And yeah I now about Evan's HID setup

Evan's unit is slick!

I want to upgrade my headlights with a bosch kit to go from sealed beams to the modern style replacement bulbs. But I can say this, I have the PIAA 915's or 910's, I think. They are 110 watt driving lamps and they out right rock Oo. They are worth their money and I would not hesitate to drop a chunk of doe down on any of PIAA's products but that is just MHO. :D

Not a positive experience.

I have PIAA in my H4 setup in my rig and like em. .

That said, I laid out the dough for the 9004 for the 99 at work and well, not a real good investment. They were somewhat brighter, but they didn't last long. The one bulb had the internal coating peal and it failed, the other burned out on Hi.

Watch out on the marketing. . Watts are Watts, their claim of equivalent wattage is based on some specific tests. Their bulbs don't create energy so, they are 45-65 and thats all. I put a set of $20 Cool blues in and they are pretty much the same on the highway. Auxillary lighting is the way to get more light on the road, like Russ does.

IMHO J-eh

PIAA 9004 Extreme whites....

They are much better than stock, but I had hoped for a little more... .

My wifes 98 Honda Civic Ex stock headlights are still better:(

I also have PIAA 510's in the factory holes, and they throw out a pattern ~40 ft. and considerably to the side, which, now in combo with the extreme's gives me decent coverage. I don't like the coverage, even with the extreme's, with the 510's turned off.

24V - DSL,

I have a 97 Auto (Factory driving lights not available so I was told) How did those PIAA 510 lights mount in. Any reason why I couldn't use them in a 97?

Thanks

I've been wanting to get me some of the PIAAS but I guess I'm just too tight(you know how those Germans are). I had a set of the Cool Blues -they were a little improvement over stock. Tryed The Wagners but- one buld sharttered no better. Sylvania came out with Silverstar so I had to try them lots better than the Cool Blue so I try them for now. Don't know how they compare to the PIAAs cause I never hand any. When I replace my for lights I'm going to try the PIAA 510 read some good things about them. Got PIAAS in there now but there not the round ones.

Fatboy....

The 510's are a perfect fit in the factory fog light plastic bracket/insert which are different than the brackets/insert with smaller, blank holes that come on trucks with no factory fog light option.

If you have the smaller plastic inserts the holes are too small for the 510's. Some trucks don't have ANY plastic inserts, and I would think with a creative mounting bracket you could use the 510's.

You can buy the factory fog light inserts from the dealer, but you have to remove the whole bumper to install them:(
