I have driven many front drive cars with V6 engines and felt "Torque Steer" when you punch it on the throttle. Today, I got onto the throttle on my truck in third and I swore I could feel it Torque steer too. I just put the 285-75-17 tires on and I am getting ready for a trip so the rears are at 70 psi. Weird!! I got under my ruck at home and NOTHING is loose, broken or otherwise out of order. Truck only has 66,000 mi.
MY truck is in my signature.

Was the front end flat during the TS issue? Seems that torque steer requires some frame flex to lighten up the steer wheel. I've not experienced this with any of my trucks, even the '96 with the Donnelly Touch. What surface were you driving on when it happened?

The front end is flat. My truck only has 66,000 miles and has never been over-loaded, hard off road and I have kept it up mechanically. I don't feel it a lot but I feel it under hard acceleration. It wants to go to the right but ever so slightly. I am on asphalt streets. I checked and both front hubs are dis-engaged, rear springs and shackles are all tight with no sign of movement. I noticed it after I put my rear tires up to 70 psi in getting ready for towing on a trip in a few days. The tires at 70 psi are pretty round with not a lot of contact area. The tires are brand new Nitto Dura grappler highway tires, 285-75-17.
It is probably nothing but I wanted to see if anyone has felt the same issue

I have a lot more torque than stock and have never felt anything similar to torque steer. Honestly I don't think it's possible with rear wheel dr.

I thought so too.... I just noticed it with the new tires. I have watched both rear wheels while accelerating and noticed nothing unusual. Heading out of town for a few weeks towing the trailer. We'll see how it goes.

I have the same tire (Tera Grappler 285/75/17) and run 50psi empty on the rears, 65 psi front. They feel nice and firm, no wiggle.

Oops, OK, not quite the same tire, but at least the same size

That's the same pressures I run empty too. They are nice and firm on the sidewalls! GREAT tire manufacturer.

Towed the TT today for 260 miles up some long steep grades and I didn't feel a thing at all like the issue I felt empty. One thing I do notice is that the 285's gear it a little tall for me when towing. On the other hand, 5th gear is now real nice for the grades as the tires raised my speed at a set RPM by 4 mph.

That's exactly what I noticed. 6th is a little high and would be doggy without extra power. But I can use 5th a lot more in the hills without the motor sounding like it's working hard. Since I tow allot in the mountains, I rather like it.
