Any Caribou Owners out ther?

Big RV show in Denver March 6-10

I'm in the process of buying a diesel pusher motorhome and was wondering if I could flat tow my truck with it. I have a 99 3500 QuadCab 4X4 with an automatic. I look at it this way. If I tow my truck and the motorhome breaks down, I can then tow the motorhome with the truck.

Thanks

towing

i haven't done it with the ram, but i've pulled 4X4's before with manual transfer cases. put the transfer case in neutral and be sure the transmission is in park. leave it in neutral and bad things happen. i plan on doing that someday with the redneck rolling residence. i'd still check with dodge before doing it..... or bill k at DTT... ... .

flat towing the CTD

no neck, check the owner's manual for flat towing. my 01. 5 manual gives specific instructions for towing the Ram behind a motorhome. for the 4X4's, this is acceptable. as i said before, transfer case in neutral, transmission in park, and switch in the off--but not locked position. ;)

In addition to checking on the towability of the Ram, I would also check on having the ability to have the brakes on the Ram come on when the motorhome brakes are actuated otherwise the word Ram will take on a whole new meaning. :D

braking

i dunno, kimzi, on my rig, at least, that shouldn't be a problem. my motorhme is built on a FL70 Freightliner chassis. those air brakes on it are BIG MOTHERS. i think it would stop the ram also without even knowing it was back there. :D
