Just looking for feedback from people that have used the Dr Performance upgrade injection pump and injectors on the (rotary pump) on their first gen Cummins?

What other upgrades did you make before or after the Dr P. kits?

Turbo housings, exhaust, ported head etc etc...

What stage kits did you use 1, 2 or 3?

Did you have to upgrade driveline components?

How is the fuel mileage and power? Any dyno runs before and after for documented performance?

why that stuff

try lucas inj's if intercooler or pw's

1st also try to turn up pump some

it will shorten its life some

hp cost $$$

i was at 250 hp at rear tires or double stock

also call www.piersdiesel.com

or email me on tdr site search piers

he can sell you a pump

but for now ide 1 ) turn uppump

2 gauges 3 injectors

4 14 cm turbo

oh cheap also 1 ) remove kink in exaust pipe over axle

all this will get you to max hp for the rotRY PUMP

AND ALOT CHEAPER THAN DR. P

BY OVER 1/2

BILL

Im trying to figure out if they can really make more HP by NOT "Overfueling" the engine.

That is thier advertisement.

I know they charge $2,500 for stage 1 and $4,000. 00 for stage 3 kit for the first gen rotary pump and injectors.

I would go second generation Cummins but I already have a complete first gen truck for a donor vehicle. Planning on swapping the Getrag out for the NV4500 if its not too much more Ill go with the NV5600.

What is it that they do with a rotary pump that doesnt make it overfuel the engine? Everything I see about the tweaks on a rotary pump involve basic adjustments to the settings.

MORE

DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING ABOUT DR P

I KNOW OF NO ONE HERE THATS DONE THIS ON TDR

BASIS THORY ON DIESELS

AIR AND FUEL = HP

THATS IT PERIOD

YOU NEED BOTH ROTARY WILL NOT FLOW ENOUGH FOR

HIGH HP 330 FLYWHEEL IS MAX

IF YOU DONT WANT TO FLOW MORE FUEL GO W/ INJECTORS

FROM PIERS AND 14 CM TURBO FROM HIM

AND OPEN EXAUST TURN FUEL UP SAY 10 PCT

DONT DO IT ANY OTHER WAY PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PIERS WILL SET YOU STRAIGHT PERIOD

OR BRUCE OF DIESEL INJ OF PITTSBURG

IF YOU WANT HP OVER 250 AT TIRES

GO TO A 2 ND GEN MOTOR, IN YOUR 1 ST GEN TRUCK

CALL BOTH OF THESE PEOPLE 1 ST B4 Y OU DO ANYTHING ELSE

OR CALL DR P OR BANKS

BILL PS READ MY SIGNATURE

4500

4500 COST 3400 INSTALLED

5600 EST ABOUT 6000-6500 INSTALLED

I HAVE THE 4500 IN MY 93

IF YOU PLAN TO GO HP AND 4500

BUY A WRECKED 2 ND GEN 94-98 12V WITH 5 SPD

YOU WILL BE WAY AHEAD

Ya,... what drives mopar said.........

I have NOT used Dr. P but everything, and I mean everything I've read is less than stellar.

You can achieve much better performance, mileage, and dependability using other options.

Remember, power up = trans. life down.

1)Gauges, Gauges, Gauges... you need to establish a baseline and have a monitoring system.

2)Air in and exhaust out system

3)Pump timing, tuning

4)Injector change over with turbo housing (my choice would now be 14cm)

These changes will wake that thing up nicely, with room to grow if you want to get a little more wild.

Much of this can be done through Piers, or Joe D. for example.

Transmission, TC/VB up-grades are a whole other 'battlefield discussion'

I asked Piers to "guesstimate" my current HP with my mods and he though I'd be "around" 250 HP. He did also ask me to advise him how close he was when I get to a dyno to check it.

Edit: My current mileage is almost exactly 19. 5MPG city.
