I'm about to purchase a 6. 7 as well.

Nothing for it so far? I've heard there are programmers out there, but I'd like some feedback from people who are actually using them.

Bullydog has a power pup out for them. TS has a MP-8 out for them ,and Superchips and Edge are getting ready to go into the Beta phase.

Although I would really like to try out a 60hp box for the price of a DPF filter I won't touch one for quite a while. :-{}

I hope they come out with something. I'd love to have my 6. 7 strait piped. For off road use. that is. LOL

I have to offer this opinion... I find it hard to believe that ANY company will place there livelyhood on the line in trying to be an accompliss in helping us remove a federally mandated piece of EPA equipment off our truck. If they don't place some kinda waiver on the purchase of these chips that places all the liability on the owner they are crazy. #@$%!

I don't see how they are going to pass emission testing in the states where they are required. The govt is cracking down on offroad atv's, dirt bikes and motorcycles. They have gone after manufacturers of aftermarket pipes for Harley's and for sportbikes. I agree with CUMMINZ, I think it is going to be a lot tougher than we think, but some people in some areas will be better off.

Values and Priorities

The govt is cracking down ...

Going first class (or at least not last-class) costs something.

Dropping your pants and using the streets for a toilet is the cheapest route. (see countries X, Y, or Z).

One step up and you have an outhouse, flies, smell, and all.

An occasionally smelly septic system with the need for a pumpout costs a few more dollars yet.

A sanitary sewer system and treatment plant is beginning to make a noticeable dent in the budget.

I'll take the sewer/treatment system, and be pleased to have the opportunity to pay for it.

We are driving trucks that someone has figured out how to operate, and which give us more power than most of us really need, without making a street-toilet of our atmosphere.

Seeing "someone" as the enemy is to be something less than responsible, re. our own obligation to stewardship of this planet.

The extra fuel/equipment dollars represent our cleaning bill, and paying it is just a part of not going last-class.

Bugs in these new systems? Of course.

Which of us bought this new rig without knowing that he/she was accepting the "early-adopter" risk?

The only way to get a proven, debugged (and improved) product is to wait out the proving-and-de-bugging period.

Impatience costs, too.

But aint these things fun to drive while the bugs are asleep? :)

(plenty of room in the bed for the soapbox, too!)

WELL i can see this thread has turned into another way for people to cram thier opinion down our throat. Alls i asked at the start otf this was does any one have anything on the 6. 7's yet. No one asked if you thought it was moral/good/responsible.

If you want to preach about morals and pricipals wait to sunday morning.

Dear Jason

I can't see anywhere on this forum post where anyone is trying to cram any idea! Only opinions. I have already raised 3 children and have 6 grand children that I would like to see grow up and not have to eat someone else's garbage and smoke. Maybe you should see other points of view that may help YOUR little ones. .

After flashing many 6. 7s,and the VERY specific method necesarry to not take out the Pcm during the process... ... ... ... and the # of pcms on backorder. The aftermarket software designers have their hands full.

I never said i dont agree with you or your opinion. If you read my post it says cram other opinions not ideas. i was just attempting to find out if any thing was out for the 6. 7's for a friend who asked me. I can see all kinds of point of views, but i was just looking for some info about Mods.

Sorry did mean to get you all upset. Dont worry about my little ones, your little ones must love the smoke from your trucks?

We have actually added one more little one to our group. We now have three mini doxies that love to travel with us. The photo above is no longer my truck. We now have a new 07. 5 6. 7L dually and love it also. It pulls great without a chip and is the cleanest running diesel ever made. No smoke at all. Great for the environment. :-laf And great for my grandchildren.

I am interested in the original question also. Now that products are out I would like to here some feedback. Thanks

I find you folks a little hypocritical ...

:-laf

Now take this with a little grain of salt here:

The ones that complain about taking emissions equipment off to "save the children" or "save the environment" via non-smoking trucks. You will never escape the human want to bend the rules.

However, I find it hypocritical that you folks pull a 15,000# camper around the country (at 10-12mpg!!!!). Why not fly? Why not drive a TDI and stay at hotels or camp in tents? Why not stay at home? Couldn't that money be better spent sending to some charity as apposed to purchasing $40,000 5th wheel? Ya know, sleeping in my front seat and getting 20mpg with my 5. 9 is easier on the environment then your 6. 7 at 10mpg pulling all that useless weight!

See, you folks can be just as "BAD" as someone who wants a performance chip. And that's my point.

Now lets get on TRACK HERE and the topic at hand.

CUMMINZ, If they don't come out with products for the new trucks, they will go out of business as someone else will. You have to take chances, or just close your doors. Have you ever be involved near the top of the food chain for a business before?

Jason, I think you worded this a little wrong:

" The ones that complain about taking emissions equipment off to "save the children" or "save the environment" via non-smoking trucks. "

Nobody removes emissions to save env/kids.....

No one has stated here that chips are bad. I have simply stated I was not going to chip my truck till some time passed to give chip makers a chance to prove their products. I stated I would not touch one before being proved.

And yes I am a CEO of a land development Corporation.

Economics or staying in business was never part of this discussion or what was the cheap way to travel.

It was about Jason #1 asking who made chips for 6. 7Ls.

Thanks

CUMMINZ
