Diesel Dan Was the man who got this thing rolling for us Diesel Heads. He had spoken to someone @
Nu Image and the rest is history.
This Thread Which is and OLD THREAD is what started it all.
This Thread is the production thread. Also an OLD THREAD.
Couple Notes on Install. 1; Watch those needle stops (Thank god My eye caught it and it didn't hit the floor) They will go sailing!
2: I quite simply Had kept the truck at normal temp Juuust before removal of the cluster. I swapped the faces and re installed the cluster with no needles. Started the truck and waitded a few minuteswith the exh brake on and GENTLY positioned the needles where they should be for my truck at temp that I had marked down moments before. Confirmed position and snugged em in.
As I started to put up before Yeah the install is a snap. If anything I feel it was the easiest White faced anything I have done yet! And that includes Bikes , Cars , Trucks and one Sled. My Mustang being the worst but thats a whole nother issue.
The A/C Panel will prolly give most of us a hard time as I can see it being the most evenly contact cemented on out of the three panels. So make sure your thumb is ready to rub. Theres alot of surface there for the adhesive to stick so that's why I say that.
The Gauge cluster itself is pretty much only glued around the needle openings ..... However that won't let you off that easy. Kep an X~Acto knife handy as it is easy to pick off the reminents of the prior facia. MAKE SURE YOU GET OFF THE OLD BITS THAT ARE LEFT! Bumps underneath can ruin what should be an easy and perfect install.
Reeaal Easy here folks. Like I said above watch out for those needle stops they will take off and dissapear on you if you are not careful. And pretty much keep the truck running the whole time (If you have an exhaust brake) Or do most of the uninstall and drive it and then when the truck is at temp pull the cluster. That way you are limiting the down time for pressures and temps to drop off.
Theese clusters DO NOT have a speedo cable to deal with so no need to fret on that.
Hope this helps and any Q:s Feel free.
