I'm looking to add onto my six gun, I called today to order the superscoop, it's in the catolog but not available. anyone have one yet? So i'm talking to the banks tech about the intercooler and high ram intake. he says don't bother with the intercooler unless you tow all the time, but the high ram would be a worthwhile investment. what do you guys think, anyone running just the high ram? is it worth it? thanks.

I had the High Ram that replaced the stocker one. I did not noticed really anything other than a slight EGT drop. I then bought the Intercooler and it comes w/ the bigger High Ram than the one you replace the stocker (two different sizes of High Rams). I did this because I had the plastic ends on my 2005 intercooler. Dealer would not replace it until I had a problem. So I dropped the coin on the Banks Intercooler.

The Banks Rep is right. Unless your going to push a lot of boost or towing a lot. You will not really notice anything other than a slight decrease in EGT (minimal in daily driving). It is a nice piece and bang for the buck since a intake manifold come w/ the intercooler for the same price roughly as the others w/o a intake manifold.

So to answer your question to drop money on the High Ram Intake Horn. It's better than stock, but don't think you will gain a lot on it. If you plan on other components on your truck. Use the money somewhere else. If not, then buy it.

I purchased and installed a High Ram Intake when I got my Six Gun Bundle. The Banks rep told me the same thing as firemansdiesel about the intercooler. Like firemansdiesel, I noticed a drop in EGT's as well. Mine seems to run smoother and doesn't feel like it's air starved, but that's also a function of the new air box and filter too. So unless your engine feels air starved, I'd put the cash towards a high performance lift pump like a FASS (if you don't already have one). You'd most likely get a better bang for the buck with that than the High Ram Intake.
