Does anyone out there in TDR-land have experience with EGR Severe Service Brake pads?? First hand experience is preferred but if you "know someone" that's OK too. I'm sure these products are great at stopping a truck but I'm interested in driveability issues too. For instance:

How much dust do they produce compared to DC pads?

Do they squeal?

How fast do they wear and how badly do they wear rotors?

I purchased a set of "high temp", "fade resistant" pads from another company (who will remain nameless) a few months ago. They stop really good but they produce about twice as much dust as the OEM pads (dust shields from Geno's fixed that), they squeal quite a bit, and recently I noticed that they are really cutting into my rotors fast. I want to switch to another brand of severe service pads but I'm a little gun shy now. I tow a heavy trailer so I need good dependable brakes. Does anyone have experience with the EGR products?? I really want to hear from someone who has some substantial miles on them.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have EGR front pads, rotors and the stainless/kevlar brake lines. It all works as advertised. Pad life is extended, rotor life extended and the truck stops when I ask it to.

Pads and shoes on my truck......

The only good news was way less dust.

The bad news was the sqeaked really bad. They didn't stop any better than the stock pads. The drilled rotors warped after 2K miles. And worse yet they went metal to metal on the fronts in less than 10K miles. Threw some Napa pads on the front while I investigate getting discs on the rears. Now it seems the shoes on one side may be gone. For that kind of money I expected a lot more.

Hopefully the disc conversion works out and help the fronts last longer.
