I was surfing around looking into Timbren sets for my 2007, 5.9, 4x4. I found Sumo Springs, urethane foam over loads also. Both look nice. I DON'T want any assistance when I am NOT loaded. I really only need them when I tow my 5th wheel to level out my truck. So anyone have the pros and cons of either mfgr? Please try to be specific. Thanks

I've used trimbren if your looking to level your truck with a load use these springs just remember they need a gap of about 3/4" unloaded otherwise they ride very ruff if they touch the support
The other rubber springs compress more I dont think they will do much to keep your truck level by watching that clip looks like these only come into play upon hard recoil and they compress up to 70%
I think the best option is air bags to keep your truck level simply add more air when needed I would not put timbrens on my truck again because I had them on a 95 3500 and it rode very ruff when not loaded which wasn't offen but I'm now looking to add air bags to my current 2500 to pull a heavy trailer just a few times a year so then i can just add air to the air bags it gives more control of the type of ride I want

No urethane based system levels the truck, they only reduce drop under load. If you want to level you need air bags with on board air. They do provide a nice boost in loaded capacity as the drop is significantly reduced after the first inch of suspension compression. A load that causes stock to drop 1 inch is going to drop 1 inch with the urethane but a load that causes stock to drop 4 inch is only going to drop 2-2,5" with urethane. A load that would have stock sitting on the bumper stops is going to be a bit below level. Unloaded they ride the same as stock; however, a bump that compresses the suspension enough to get on the bag is going to be felt more than stock. Partial loads tend to ride rough as you are right at the engagement point.

I have Air Aide air cells which are basically the same thing. They work well and I would do urethane again. For price and convenience they are hard to beat. Just have realistic expectations.
