was riding in my buddy's duramax last night and checked out his dvd player. he said it came with his "loaded package". do we have a similar setup on our trucks? we just ordered a 04. 5 600 with the lariame package. the wife want's a dvd player. thanks... . james

looks like it is with the gps radio, probly better off going with after market, i've seen dvd players at places like crutchfield for around 200 bux

From what I understand, the RB1 GPS navigation system does not play DVD's. The DVD is only used for the GPS database. I think it does play MP3's, but I'm not sure on that.

i have the installed nav system and yes it will not play real dvd's for good reason. the legal implications would be profound. imagine the lawsuits from distracted drivers... . besides any installed dvd players are for the passengers. the guy who paid the big bucks for the fancy player gets to here sponge bobs greatest hits over and over and over... .

Thats not true. Our Suburban has the factory installed DVD RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment) package and the wireless headphones are great!!!! Turn that sucker on and they just sit there and grin. Only down side to it is that if they do talk they are yelling because of the headphones. With the GM version you can also play the RSE audio through the stereo if you want.
