All the concerns about bug spatter and breakage are definitely legitimate. It is no fun trying to wash off dried on insects 10 feet in the air and a broken front window would ruin your trip. There is really no right or wrong answer. You just have to make your choice based on the circumstances. If you are in a seasonal site with a nice view, a front picture window would be great. If on the road frequently it might be more trouble than its worth. In my case with a smaller 34ft 1 slide trailer, the large windows make the camper seem much larger and helps bring the outside in. And speaking of bug splatter, there was a vendor at the RV show selling bug remover. It uses enzymes to dissolve the insects and then they just wipe off. I bought a gallon so I will see how it works this summer.
