I love the looks of them, and the price is reasonable, but I can't find any pics of them on a 3rd gen. Anyone have any?

its a long drawnout hissy fit teenage squabble. Needless to say, they are the same bumpers, two different companies.

Now, having TRIED to talk to RA for a while, and never getting a call back, and quite a few guys I know that have them complain about the shotty powercoating on them and long wait times and lack of customer service, I wouldnt buy one. I use to pimp thier stuff as I thought it was the coooolest bumper out there, as at the time, it was the ONLY one out like it.

NOW, there is alternatives, and Jim at AlienPatrol has always called me back, and even has designed a Lower Profile bumper for the Dodges to accomidate people like me that want a bumper that can take a hit of a deer, but not stick out so far that you gain a foot of over all length. He doesnt paint them, so that will end up on your bill, but personally, I think that is smart on his behalf.

Anyway, just my experiance.

Line X ULTRA coated mine to match my truck---pretty pricey to do front and rear, but hopefully it will outlast any kind of paint or powder coating. With my ride,it is mostly highway miles now back and forth to our place at the lake so a coating that would last or stand up to the constant beating from the "Bug Guts" was # 1 to me. PS---- One thing that i have noticed is that when they do hit, they just "explode into bits and pieces",no smears, most likely from the rough texture, easier to clean too.

Beautiful bumpers, especially that rear one - the color coating is a great plus!

BUT, man, the size of the front riser section looks like it'd stop an elephant! A bit intimidating and over the top for my taste - but undoubtedly sturdy!

Very nice truck! :)

Thanks Gary, i like the rear on the best as well and the front was a little bigger than i thought, but i can live with it. Maybe Road Armor could tone it down a size to appeal to more second genner owners on the upper section. As i stated in a few other threads, the reason i bought the front was to protect my ride from the deer problem traveling back and forth from our weekend getaway. Roadkill is everywhere and i"v had 3 close calls so far, so it maybe a matter of time before i hit one, this may minimize the damage.

Hey Matt thanks for the support. Attached are some pics of a recent customer's truck Paul McCreight out of Texas.

Just to set the record straight I founded RA in April of 1994 and built it up to 3M in sales by 05. In November of 2005 Jim Medlock, Mark Hanson, Pete Dahmen, and Gabe Gile conspired to steal my company from me. They forged documents that stated I sold my 3M company to them for one dollar. While on a business trip in Northern California Dahmen (who was my personal accountant) drained my personal bank account at the same time they stole the business. Gile went into our home in Washington and stole TVs, computers, tools, Christmas ornaments, my deceased wife’s mother’s silverware, and vandalized our home. A year later we sold our home (had to payoff 100k in RA debt I got stuck with) and started Alien Patrol.

I designed the entire RA product line, none of those Xastards have the experience or talent to design these products. As you can see I have released products for the ’08 Ford, ’07 Chevy HD, & ’07 GMC HD recently and no other company has. I have designed over 80 applications and built over 5000 winch bumpers during my career. As you can see our pricing structure is far superior to anyone else on the market. I intend to own the majority of this market share within two years, and this is how:

Most competitive pricing

Awesome product designs (I do not take a cookie cutter approach, as you see all the guard designs match the vehicle they are designed for)

Total dedication to the highest quality on the market

Great delivery times

Excellent customer service

100% guaranteed satisfaction or I will refund your purchase and pay for shipping

Lifetime guarentee against any breakage no matter if you purchased your truck with our products already installed

As a supporter of the TDR both in print and on this site, I would welcome anyone to contact me anytime with any questions you may have. Below is a partial list of recent customers who have received product from my company, please feel free to contact them for their opinions of me, my wife, and our products.

I very much like the looks of those bumpers, but looking at the website, it appears there is a requirement that there be a 3 inch body lift to mount them - is that correct? Will they NOT install on a stock height, 2 wheel drive '02 like mine?

Sorry for the confusion, no body lift required. However we do support body lift applications in two ways: Either we build the bumper x"s taller or provide special extended brackets. Attached are pics of Bill's 2nd gen which was the first to install the body lift style brackets. Also, I have included a recent email from him you all might find interesting.

Jim,

Here is another inquiry I got and the e-mail I sent him.

Hey Ken,

I do have an Alien Patrol bumper I purchased a couple months ago and I am very happy with it. I have not had or seen a Road Armor or Fab Four bumper in person so I cannot speak for their quality. Looking at pricing before I bought my bumper however, Alien Patrol was by far the most affordable.

I attached a couple of pictures of my bumper in various stages of installation. I'm not sure what application or intended use you have in mind, but I was looking for a stout offroad winch bumper for my Dodge and there are limited choices for my applications that I was intersted in.

Here is a link to a thread I started that will tell you how I became an owner and advocate of Alien Patrol bumpers:

PavementSucks.com - View Topic - The Myth about Alien Patrol Bumpers - Dodge, Ram, 4x4, 4 wheel drive, 4wd, off road, off-road, wheeling, trails, DIY, trucks, Chevy, Ford, clubs, mud bog, rockcrawling, Toyota, Gallery, mud, rocks, readers rides, full

I would highly recommend Jim Terry (Owner of Alien patrol) and his wife Sandy as great people to business with. They took a huge gamble by sending me a custom fabricated "one off" bumper for my truck without receiving a dime from me just so I could look it over. In the thread you will see that I had Jim modify a regular Ram bumper for my purposes and design and build custom brackets for me. Again, all of this was done without any financial transaction taking place between us. I gave him nothing, not even a CC number, and he designed, built and shipped my bumper to me all on my "promise" to look it over and pay him if I liked it.

That alone speaks voulmes about Jim and his company, but talk to him and see for yourself.

Good luck, and again I feel like you cannot go wrong with Alien Patrol.

JThompson,

Thanks for the pics. Quite the story. So, who is running Road Armor now?? I love the product, and I have a great powdercoating shop here so looks like a done deal. Expect an order for both front and rear soon.

Hey nukeman, sorry I didn't see your question about who is running my old company. It is pethetic, Mark Hansen (the real theif who first conspired to steal my company) is a lolely IT guy and Cingular in Dallas. He works full time there and "moonlights" as the Pres of RA.

Every week I am picking my their/my old dealers due to their lack of performance and poor quality.

All in all though I am actually glad it happened. I don't have to deal with partners and we just bought 38 acres in Colorado that has a river running through the middle of it. We are going to build a shop next spring and move the business there!

Also, one of the TDR members just finished installing an '07 Dodge Lunar S on his truck and I think he will be posting pics of it soon.

Thanks,

Jim

Wish i had known about this before i started my little "fiasco/headaches"with Road Armor back in Jan 07----wrong bumpers/wrong brackets---6 months of "ME" and my time to get things right--not them. Hope you take a lot of there business and take care of the customer----Time will tell to prove yourself/no one took care of me. PS-----i will never recommend them to anyone---ever. My 2 cents.

Gaining market share

My plan is to own this market in two years. When I started up Alien Patrol I did not intend to have any dealers. Funny thing is I was hounded by former RA dealers that were sick and tired of getting lied to, 16 - 18 week wait times, poor quality, and the worst terrible customer service. Now all the Canadian dealers purchase from us and every week at least two dealers in the US convert to us.

I think I posted a list of about 10 - 12 current customers with email address' if anyone wants to talk with them about AP.

Thanks,

Jim
