Yea but you can't beat the performance or customer service of a south bend. Peter recently told me if I wanted to convert my FE to an OFE just send it in and he would resurface the one side no charge!! Are you looking for a clutch for one of the trucks in your sig?? Shoot me a PM and we can discuss

Hey Smokin,

Did you ever decide about your clutch. I need one now that I have over 200,000 miles on my dually. I am constantly puliing over 10,000lbs. Hey I live "New Albany". What up neighbor...

Thanks,

Scott

Valair clutches

I bought a valair clutch off ebay, and I have only good things to say about it. Not only is the clutch excellent, they have great customer service. I would recommend these clutches to anyone, and yes they are inexpensive compared to other brands out there. I have a 98 12v, #10 plate slid forward, 3000 GSK. After I got my clutch, my brother got one as well for his 99 24v, edge chip, and injectors, and he as as happy as I am. We pull gooseneck trailers occasionally and we are in a local truck pulling circuit. These clutches are holding great! Check them out at http://www.valairinc.com/

Sach's makes a good clutch... . we purchase from the same manufacture that makes the product for Sach's..... our pricing is better than that I just looked at on E-bay from the web sight above..... we've never gotten into offering them to members of the TDR... just the Exhaust brakes... .

Good values are out there..... but often the price of advertising on the TDR adds costs to the bottom line of your cost... .

Just my 2 cents worth..... or is that a nickel with inflation...

No Ive not decided yet Im getting ready to go on vacation so it wont be for at least another month or 2 before I get a clutch but if I do I am heavily leaning on the Valair clutch. And I am from Salem but actually live in Greenville now just havent updated my location.

Torqmonster which clutch are you guys using and how many pulls a year do you make with these clutches.

We are running the: NMU70119-04 12 x 1 1/4 Ceramic 5 Speed Dodge

This is the first year for pulling in the circuit, we in the past were pulling about 2-3 times a year for the local fairs, etc. A bunch of us have diesels and there would be no competition. So this year because of the diesel population in our area they started a 8000 class in a circuit that has 7 pulls a year for a points, plus a couple more that don't count in the points. I have 1 pull on my clutch so far, and tomorrow night will be the first on my brothers. There are about 5 pulls left for us this year.

typical of a clutch thread, instant loyalty to sbc so all you see is buy theirs. I can assure you I have ran the sbc and liked the product my wife did not like the pedal pressure in my 01 dually. so when I changed the one in the 03 she was suprised it hooked up great and felt stock. there are choices on the market, at savings.

FYI, ZOOM ZVT (company owned truck) 1997 3500 5 speed stage II dyno sheet from last October 277 RWHP, 793 RWT, truck modification is the Banks Power Pack. We also have dyno data from TDR member ZVT installations, 2000 24V 381 RWHP 703 RWT, 2002 24V 365 RWHP 899 RWT.

Zoom's website could use a revision. They state:

"well over 600 lb-ft with ceramic button friction materials (Stage 2)"

And that's the best description I found. ?

"One can expect additional torque handling gains of 300 lb-ft or more with organic friction material (Stage 1) and well over 600 lb-ft with ceramic button friction materials (Stage 2). " Quoted from ZOOMClutch website 7. 18. 06.

DTroy,

Thanks for checking out the website, I read the copy and what we are stating on the website are the additional gains over a stock system. I talked to our webmaster and he is going to rework the text a little.

Thanks
