I am so close to buying an AirDog FP100, but was wondering in anyone installed it in the engine compartment?

I’ve seen a lot of rigs with the AD FP-100 installed / attached to the truck or bed rails, and in the rear wheel wells. But for a preventive measure against the possibility of the Air Dog being stolen, I was thinking about it being installed under the hood (out of sight).

If you did install it under the hood, can you please attach pictures so that I can see where you did? That would be appreciated. Or if you want you can email the pictures to -- email address removed --

Also, if you did, was there anything else that you needed to purchase aside from the AD FP100 installation kit?

I don’t plan on bombing the truck so the ‘stock’ space under the hood is what it is.

you could get the aftermarket wheel well covers and no one would see I and it would be protected from road debris. I had a long bed and it wasn't that visable even without the covers which I wish I had to protect the pump from road salt and what not. Short beds it's very visable.

I believe I will install it on the inside frame rail as noted in the instructions, so that I don't have to pull any lines over the rails. I'll probably use Loctite to help prevent the bolts from loosening up from the various vibrations.

From some other folks install pics, yes the bottom portion of the bracket and filters will still be visible ... until enough dirt covers them and blends them in with the rest of the bottom of the truck :D
