Anyone installed Air Ride Seat?

I received a great air ride seat for Christmas to put into our 40" MCI bus/motorhome. But now with my new (to me) 2001, 3500 Cummins, 5 speed) I would like to install the seat in the truck.



Any ideas?

LAgema, I too had thought of that idea, but I'm not sure of there would be enough head clearance in the cab. Although I have an old Bostrom seat that has only a short vertical travel range that I thought might clear it, I was never ambitious enough to pursue it. I don't know the headroom differences between Dodges and Super Duties but I think the bigger F650 and F750s use the same cabs as the 250 and 350s just different engine bays and hoods, and they come with air rides. So I guess it would be somewhat possible on a pickup of our size. OK I'm done rambling. Good luck!

Kalaehina, thanks for the answer to my question. I am lucky to have 2 sons that are great mechanics (sorry, they are now called technicians) than should be able to tell me if the headroom is enough. I think the Dodge has about 41 inches of headroom. I will post any sucessess or maybe any defeats.

I too had thought of that idea. Did it about 4 years ago to my new 97 3500. My seat bottom was broke down so I had the seat rebuilt and installed an old low pro air ride box from a salvage yard. WOW I'll never hotshot again without one. It's amazing more people don't do that. I guess I've spent my share of time in my truck to know I needed one. I mounted an airride box under my 6 way factory seat, it rode about an inch to inch and a half higher than normal. If your a big guy it might not work unless you really try to keep it mounted low. I't worked great for me being 5'8" tall. It is a great idea if you spend alot of time on the road. I also made my own airride gooseneck hitch. Between the two of them it made a nice ride. The truck and the 52 ft car trailer rode as nice empty as loaded.
