I am looking for a good mounting place for a fire extinguisher in the cab. My old truck ('71) had a lot of sheet metal which was perfect to pop rivet a fire extinguisher mount to. My '98 is all plastic and I am a bit hestitant to mount to it.

For right now I have my extinguisher in a back pack wedged under the back seat. I would rather have it out in easy reach when it can be seen.

I bolted mine on the floor between the drivers seat and the door right under the seat adjustment levers. Real handy to get to.

I used a flat piece of vinyl as long as the fire extinguisher and wide enough to wrap around it. I placed velcro on the edges to close the overlap. I laid the vinyl on the floor right behind the drivers seat (sort of half under the seat) and held it down with a thing strip of aluminum in the middle;lay the extinguisher on it, wrap the edges over the extinguisher and hold with the velcro. This device has been in constant service since 93, and works well, is handy and out of the way.

I fabricated a light angle iron bracket. Painted it and bolted it to the floor under the driver seat with one of the existing seat mounting bolts. Works great and is easy to reach.
