Anyone know Derek Stanger?

I bought a propane kit from him a month ago tomorrow from the classified section. I sent the $$$ and have confirmation he got it. I have E-mailed him and got no reply. I have not received the kit or even a call. After the attacks on the US I am cutting him some slack because he could be having a family emergency. He is also a member here. Was just hoping that someone knows him. He is from Idaho. Hopefully everything is OK and I can get an update here. Thanks for any info you may have.

I don't know him but remember his ad and thinking he only lived about 20 miles away. Anyway I just tried looking him up in the phone book hoping to find you a number for him but he isn't listed. Maybe if you have an address for him I could match that up to a number.

That exact address doesn't match up but there is another Stanger on the same road about 3/4 mile away. I would be willing to bet they are related and could give you some information about him. # is 208-423-4395 That number is listed under Byron Stanger

Thanks again for the info. Finally got someone to answer the phone. She gave me enough info to find him. It was his parents house. I found him at ISU and got his E-mail also. He has a week to send the kit or the Postal inspector can throw him in jail for mail fraud. I have given him a month to send the parts after the day the check was delivered.

Update

I just wanted to give everyone a LONG overdue update. I finally got my $$$ back after E-mailing and then finally hunting Derek down thru his parents. He received the check on 8/20/01 and I finally got a check returned to me today 10/22/01. It took 2 months for me to simply get my money back.



I would not send ANY amount of $$$ to Derek Stanger for any items posted in the for sale section. Hopefully I learned a lesson for everyone.
