Anyone know if a dual voltage Alternator is available?

I am trying to find out if anyone makes a 12/24 VDC unit that will replace the factory setup. I have a fifth wheel that runs both 12 and 24 and would really like to be able to charge the 24 system from the truck also. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Mike, Don't know if this will help, But I installed a Mobiweld Welder on my jeep, and I believe that they make dual voltage Alternators. They sell both welding systems and replacement alternators. The Cores for the alternators are Bosch. They are changed at mobiweld for step up voltage. Their website is www.mobiweld.com

if you cant find a dual voltage alt, you can get a dc-dc converter that will produce an isolated 24vdc. It's probably about the same cost of the alt.

I have thought about the DC-DC converter and that is definatly an option. To answer the question of what is 24V, I live in my 5th wheel full time and I am a Computer Network Administrator so I have lots of computer equipment that I need decent uninteruptable power for. I have recently installed a Trace SW4024 4KW inverter (Line Tie) that is 24V imput along with a 400W wind turbine generator and getting ready to install some more solar panels. The rest of the coach is all 12VDC which I also have solar for and may put a turboine on. I live in the middle of nowhere and our power kinda sucks. Being in CA is insult to the injury. Also I am starting to do a lot more dry camping while traveling and it is sure nice to be able to go several weeks without a power plug.
