Anyone know this Part #?

I'm looking for the part # for the rubber grommet/rubber seal that fits in the hole of the firewall just behind the brake pedal on an 06 3500 MegaCab. I was installing my quad box and cut a hole in the seal (for the wiring) thats too big! Now it leaks air, and with winter approaching I don't want cold air coming in.



I've talked with the Part's guy at the dealership but he can't seem to find it in the parts catologue on the computer. Does this part have a special name?

Wouldn't some goo of some kind like black RTV (or even construction adhesive ) be easier and cheaper? I would guess if your Dodge parts guy can't find it, either another dealership with a sharper parts guy, or finding one on a wrecked truck are you other solutions.

Yeah, I'm sure I could goo it up with something like silicone but I hate doing that on a $50K truck. I didn't even think about going to wrecker but you're right, I could easily get one from them since I think the grommet is the same from 03-06.

Go to an auto supply and find a rubber gromet the right size for the hole and the right center. They come in all sizes. Slice it through to the center and slide over the wiring and snap it in the hole. Will look factory. Done it many times on firewall holes.

This has been brought up several times in the last 3 years. I don't remember anyone coming up with one.

I cut a large hole in mine. Then I wrapped the wires tightly with grey pipe-wrap insulation foam (the stuff that's slit on one side) so that they fit snugly in the large hole I cut in the gromet, Cut the pipe wrap flush and sealed it with black RTV. Works good, and can be un-done as I add more wires through it (Gauges, lights ... ). Where its located, can't see it unless you really try.
