Guy's,

I have two 3500's, one has the regular manual cloth seats, and the other is leather with the six way electric adjustable seat. I am a big guy at a little over 6'4" and the truck with the electric seats is a little to close to the foot pedals steering wheel etc. The truck with the manual seat is just about perfect and probably one of the most comfortable trucks for a big guy I have ever owned. The electric seats are off just enough to a pain, a real pain, and they simply are not comfortable at all for a big guy.

So the question is have any of you ever moved these seats? They don't need to move much maybe 1 1/2 to 2 inches back would do just fine. Any ideas on how to go about this?

I feel your pain. I'm 6'4" as well.

Someone who has taken their interior out might be able to help out better. The back four bolts go all the way through the floor and seem posilble, but there is ridge in the floor behind the frame, that may make it difficult. The front two bolts are mounted on a pad (the bolt doesn't go thru) that is probally welded to the floor. This would be hard to move.

Someone else?

The problem I have is not going back far enough, but with the seat all the way down, the lumbar support is too far up my back and when I raise the seat, to get it on my lower back, I feel too high.

Good Luck,

Jay

I just had mine out to clean the carpets and don't think trying to relocate the seat base is a wise choice, the bolt anchors are in strategicly reinforced places on the body to prevent the seats pulling out in the case of a crash.

One option I think you may have though may be to leave the bases in their original position but unbolt the slide rail that is attached to the base and move the slide rails back an inch or so, it may require you re-drilling or even welding the track to the base in the new position ... just a thought.

hope some lil ole gray hair 5'1" granny dont buy you truck when you sell it ... she would need blocks on the pedals to reach em . . :-laf

Kevin

have you looked to make sure your getting full travel ?? might be a motor issue as to travel length

I have a 01. 5 3500 leather and 8 way seat... I'm 6'7" with no issues as to seat position length from pedals, I do have the seat breakdown spoken of here before
