6 speed

I wrote the guy an email and asked him why the transmission got pulled. Was the truck totaled??? His answer back was "I can't say. " Go figure... maybe it is "hot"... .....

Only $910 and reserve has been met? That's disappointing. Doesn't leave me much hope of getting much for mine when I pull it to put in an automatic, when I finally find an Allison 1000 that won't blow up...

OK guys,

Be careful on this one. This guy sent me another email on why this transmission got pulled out. He states that the transmission was replaced under warranty. The transmission is slow going into 3rd gear??????. My question is how did this guy get the transmission if it was replaced under warranty????

I know that in GM land, if you have close ties with your dealer's service department, you can sometimes score the parts that were replaced under warranty, if, after a certain amount of time, GM hasn't asked for them back.

The thing is, it seems odd to me that if this was the case here, that DC wouldn't want the transmission back for the third gear problem that some of the NV5600's have been having.

Not the NV5600... they use the ZF in the Duramax and 8. 1L motors. They used the NV4500 as the 5-speed, though.

To the best of my knowledge, DC is the only company using the NV5600.

However tempting it sounds, I think I'd fall back on that old saying... how's it go?????? If it sounds to good to be true... ... .

The high bid is at $910 and that is dirt cheap! that transmission sells for $6300 new. Used ones are from $2000 to $3000. With low miles it is a bargain.
