Anyone remove the damper off the driveshaft slip yoke?

A famous aftermarket driveshaft maker says they always remove them due to all the problems they cause. Just wondering if anyone has cut it off and what the result was.

Problems? It's there to prevent gear howl due to torsional vibrations. If the rubber is not cracked, it's usually good.
