I'm looking for new tires for my 06 Mega. I really liked the narrow look on my 97 (I had 255/85-16's). Does, or has, anyone run the 235/80-17 on their SRW's? What are your thoughts if you have them? Any photos? I am interested in the BFG All Terrain T/A KO's.

Yep, I've got 235/80-17 Cooper Discoverer's. The are MUCH more quiet than the tires I had before. I wanted something good in snow/ice and tall.

They may have helped my mileage a tad. So much traction I didn't even have to put it in 4 wheel drive last winter.

Now I almost want taller... . Frankly, I want another gear (and I've got 3. 73's).

With diesel at 3 a gallon I find myself keeping it at 60 on the Interstate as my mileage is at least 2mpg better.

Dragging this one up from dust pile. I went with the stock size tire when I replaced them last time. I'll not make it through the winter with the tires that are on there now. So I'll re-ask the original question again. Any experiences with 235's or pics of them? Thanks to JTucholke for the initial feedback.

Is the 235 standard size on duallies? The 265/70 and the 235/80 seem to be within a few tenths in diameter. I don't want to have to mess with any recalibration.

Ok, I'm beating the horse! I made it through the winter because we had very little snow. I'm still interested in 235 tires but have yet to see any photos of a srw with them. I've searched all over the internet to no avail. Any more input on this idea? I know some manufacturers state the tire is too narrow for my stock rims but others say it is ok.

No experience with that exact size but since no one else it is chiming in, that size will mount on your stock wheel and work, but some tire shops may not do it if its not within DOT guidelines. I know many guys running 37x13. 5 toyos on stock wheels as one extreme and a 35x12. 5 on a 12" wheel at another, just depends if the tire shop will do it. I wouldnt run a BFG, the yoko's are a much better tire IMO but to each there own
