I just got a killer deal on a set of goodyear wrangler mtr's, they are 315/75's, and what i have on now are 305/70's. I dont have to lift the front end very high, i think a 4inch suspension lift might make these tires look small? Any other spring options? I had these ones re arched and a leaf added already. And there flat already.

I've got 315's on my 3rd gen and they're huge, i don't how anything could make these look small, unless you put them on bigfoot. Many 1st genners seem happy with the skyjacker 2" springs, if you don't lift at all you'll probably have to trim the front wheel well edge, you may have to do that even with a lift if it's not allready done. Do a thread search on the skyjacker springs, lots of good reading.

Sorry, but they do tend to appear a bit small on my "signiture truck" with no lift. I thinking about building a tube bed and shorten the wheelbase a foot or two. 42's possibly in the future for XXXL. Even with the Cummins power, I can't say I get wonderful mileage, but 15mpg isn't too bad for a one ton, 4X, crewcab dually.

I am running 315 courser CT,s on my 92 and they look real good. I have had the springs rearched and they just rub when you turn in a bind like pulling out of a field or something like that.

Maybe it's the type of tires i've got, my 315's are 35" tall, i guess other 315's are not as tall?? or maybe i'm easier to satisfy on what constitutes filling up a wheel well. How much taller do the 315's measure to the 307's?? I allways thought 315 would be 31. 5 inches tall roughly but my b. f. 's are much taller.

315 is actually the width in millimeters then the 75 meens that 75% of 315 mm is the height of the side wall. so take 315/25. 4 (I think) for metric conversion = 12. 4 in wide. 75% of that is 9. 3 that is the side wall height x2 for top and bottom =18. 6in + the height of the rim (16in I assume)= 34. 6 in tall roughly. Ever tire company is differnt and I have seen measurments as far as 2 in differnt.

Now as far as the truck MMiller has 305's amd 2. 5 in lift springs and can make them rub a little bit I think. I think a four inch with 315 would look very good and I think you will have to go at least that for no rubbing issues.

good luck,

Cade

I have 315/75r16's on my **EDIT**93. They measure out to 34. 5x12. 5. i am running 4 inch lift up front(airbags), 0-8 inchs out back(airbags again). The front rubs a little bit on turn when flexing, so I am removing the metal from the front side turn signals down to prevent this. At 4 inchs, they look good. The rear with any lift on it make them look to small.

I ran 315 BFG mud terrains on my '95 w/ 4. 10 gears just to cut the gears down. On a 3. 54 truck you will feel as if they are weighing down the truck a little, MMiller has commented that he felt a difference between 285 and 305's especially when towing. I went to 285's on mine vs the old 265's and it seems to load the truck more, but it spools faster and feels faster because of it. EGT's are higher cruising, but mileage is essentially the same. I clearanced the inner fenderwells on front a little for the 285's, didn't really need to. My front springs are wasted, I think 2" would clear 315's for on road driving, off road they will rub unless you have a 4".
