I've been shopping for an aftermarket trans for the past week and want to hear about others experiences. I think i've narrowed it down to either goerends or rebuilt blumenthals with ats triple loc. The reason I may want to go with blumenthals is because they are local and that is important if there are problems. I would hate to have to keep taking one out and shipping it back and forth out of state. My truck is just stock horsepower so i don't think I need too much overkill. I just want to be able to work it and tow on occasion without damaging it. I've already been through 2 stock trannies. After talking to dave at goerends about what I use my truck for we both feel I should probably go with the triple since I sometimes tow over #15000. Now before everyone starts telling me to get the full upgrade from their preferred vendor keep in mind i'm not a sled puller or drag racer, i'm just a stock tower and it's my daily driver. I rarely tow that heavy or that far. I don't want to buy a bunch of unneccesary stuff for my particular application. I just want to hear other peoples experiences with a similar real world setup. After all the hours i've sat here and read transmission posts no one has ever said how long their aftermarket trans has lasted. Under normal driving and towing what kind of life expectancy can I get out of one of these?
