Anyone Running Comp, Stage 2's And Htb2? How Do Ya Like It?

Gonna buy this combo tomorrow, already have the Mach 2's, adding the Comp and HTB2 tomorrow, what should I expect or not expect?

Thanks in advance :)

That will be a great combo if you are talking about the htb2 62/12 or 62/14... . especially if you do any towing. The truck will be a whole different beast & you won't want to park it. You will start looking for excuses to take a drive.

I have 100 hp jammers and 62/14 Great improvement I dont see much over 875 for temp but great with the TST and even funner with smarty stacked just little smokey.

my fuel mileage did get better with the HTT and TST off and smarty on fuel saver it went up to 20-21 mpg.

I may decide not to go with the comp due to some complications with the year of my truck and the map sensor I have. Is there any drawback by staying with the ez and a 400 hp clutch along with the htb2?

No just a little less power. The ez gives 70hp & the comp 120hp. I would get the comp... . the ez is nice but the comp is way better in my book. The comp is definately worth the wait to find the right box . If you don't have gauges... get the juice. If you want low end power... get a smarty. The smarty would be my first choice if I were to do it all over again... . mostly because I tow frequently.

OK, will I fry my clutch if I go w/the Comp?

Will I have any NIGHTMARES that my VP44 will go out?

and will I get better mileage w/the Comp?

I'm not looking for a race, just to have the flexiblity in power, now the HTB2

is quieter than my stocker? do I need more power?

Thanks 4 your input.

The comp should never be tapped into the vp44 without fuel system mods. The stocker was overworked & that is what makes them loud & the fact that the compressor wheel is smaller. The htb2 is a 62 right? If you want adjustability... . the comp is gonna give you 22 more levels of adjustment than a ez. If you have a stock clutch... . yes it will slip with a ez or comp. I wouldn't hook up any box without gauges. The fuel system can be upgraded for $110. [holley blue]+ a few fittings & hose. I would do it if you plan on a ez or comp, but especially with a comp. If you don't want to do the fuel system now... . get a comp & don't tap the pump until you get a fuel upgrade.

I may decide to stay w/the EZ, and not have the NIGHTMARES of VP? I've had them b4, and it's not funny, the truck drives much betta than b4, EGT's are way lower, more power, but the turbo seems to be quieter or have a different pitch?

but I guess you can't have everything.

May go w/ 4's or 5's and sell the 2's. EDM's that is.

20-21 MPG @ what speed???

Cummins724, Finally i got the juice/attitude and tapped today, wow what a difference, wondering could i run on 5 cruising on the freeway @ 65-75?

instead of 1-2-3?

thanks in advance.

You just need to watch your fuel pressure... . set your backdown. Usually the clutch should hold at that cruising speed..... just watch you don't slip it. You should be fine.
