Anyone??

Thinking about running it since I can get it locally, unlike Amsoil. I used it in the GFs Mustang (rear diff) and it did make a difference.

Thoughts??

Wellllllll... that's interesting. No one is running Lucas gear oil?

I decided against it, although I am running it in the GFs Mustang... the rear runs cooler, less noise (it always whined from day one), and mileage is up a little.

Going with Mobile 1 in the diffs, Castrol synthetic Dexron III/Mercon in the TCase, and Pennzoil Synchromesh in the transmission... all at 58k...

I still can't belive none of you are running Lucas gear oil... but I'm not going to be the guinea pig either!!!

One note... and I found this VERY interesting... Mobile is THE only large producer of synthetic oil base stock... all of the big names buy Mobile's base stock (including Amsoil, Castrol, and valvoline to name a few), then add their own additives. This is where it gets interesting... there was only ONE Mobile plant making synthetic base stock... I say was because it was flattened by the Hurricane... my local parts house told me this... they have overstocked on ALL synthetics because they might not be able to get it in the near future until the plant is rebuilt... Now, don't shoot the messenger... this is second hand info from this store, but these guys were serious about this wondering if they would have enough stock for the next couple months.

I heard the same thing. I could not get Mobil 1 Truck & Suv oil, from where i usually get it. I had to switch brands. Bummer

I'm using mobile one 75-90 in my 05 differentials, no problems so far (other than this odd grinding noise when driving, and occasional smoke coming out of the differential breather tube, but that's probably something else. . )
