I have some Avon 35's and like the heighth, but don't like the boyancy of them in mud and snow or the noisy road noise...

I'd like to get a 285/75... but I can't afford the Toyo's in this size ($1399).

So... I'm leaning towards the Michelin LT285/70 LTX AT2 @ $922 (minus a $60 rebate) = $862.

I ran Michelin 285/75's on my '95 and loved them, but my 2003 has 17" rims and it seems that fewer tire makers are making the slightly larger sizes in the 17" size (IE the 285/75 v 285/70).

Any complaints with the LTX AT2?

What prices are you paying?

I can get them at sam's for $221. 56 each minus a $60 at-the-register discount is purchased before the end of the month.

YES, I need to update my personal information - sorry.

I don't have the size that you are inquiring about, however I bought a set of 235/85/16-E's for my '91. 5 W-250 about a month ago.

Previously, I had Michelin LTX-AT's on that truck & really liked them. The new AT-2's seem to be a nice tire, also. Balanced out well & seem to ride well & have good traction.

Personally, I liked the looks of the "old" AT's better. Had a nice looking, semi-aggresive tread pattern. The new AT-2's have a rather funny looking tread pattern. Looks more like a passenger car tires tread pattern. However, Michelin seems to have pretty good technology when it comes to tires & they must have thought that pattern has some benefits. I just don't know what those benefits are.

So far, the looks of the tread pattern are the only thing I'm not that fond of regarding these tires. That I can live with.

Hope this helps.

I just put those on my truck a month ago and so far have been impressed with them, I've only got 1500 miles on them though. I haven't noticed any road noise and thats all I was worried about. I agree about the tread but its kind of grown on me. I paid $880 for them. I can try and get you some pics if you want, they really made it look meaner compared to those POS Michelins I had on it before.
