I'm finally pulling the trigger and upgrading my 06 after 150k miles. Currently it's bone stock with gauges. The intake I was looking at is as follows. [h=1]03-07 Dodge 5.9L Glacier Complete Mega-Rail Fuel & Intake System[/h]it upgrades to the 6.7 intake and fuel rail. Has anyone used this product?

The other items I'm looking at are adding Big Bang 1.5 injectors, Ats 5000 compound kit over stock turbo, transmission is being refreshed locally, afe fuel/water separator and filter, 4" exhaust turbo back, and a truetrac in the back.

No offence intended..... Have you researched this combination and its compatibility with each other? Just bolting on bigger this and that doesn't always compute to a good combination and good drivability. You might check into ARP head studs to keep the head tied down.

Looks to be more of a maximum performance product. One route to go if that is what you are building, waste of time unless you are going to dual CP-3's or a big stroker pump. The BBI 1.5's can top out around 800 HP but will need the air, compounds of course, and the full flow of 2 stock CP-3's to do it. In short, depends on what you are trying to build.

To be honest no, I have not researched it that is why I was posting it here. I like the feedback that is too much or overkill. I don't want to waste my money and I want to do things correctly. At the end of the day I want something that is reliable as it is driven daily and something I can continue to tow with. Not getting left in the dust by our srt challenger would be nice too but that is a distant third to the other two.*

My own take is to ask what I want to do with the truck and do I want it to get me HOME from any trip I take. Lastly, when I beef up one part or system on my truck, what then is going to be the weakest link.
My 2007, 5.9 has the smarty jr on the 70hp setting. I have the stock turbo rebuilt by turbo resource that retains the stock compressor but now has the 6.7 turbine wheel with my exhaust housing machined to fit. I put on a PDI, 2 piece exhaust manifold (just the one I chose) and I port matched the turbo exhaust housing to the ports on the PDI manifold. I tow a 5th wheel with a combined weight of 18,500 lbs. I am real happy with the truck both empty and when towing. Fuel mileage is better. NO, I can't beat a Dodge Charger but a Dodge Charger doesn't weigh 7800-8000 pounds either. A Dodge Charger wouldn't handle a 10,500 5th wheel either. The only other mod I plan to do is to get rid of the EGR camshaft.

First question: What is your goal for the truck?
Second: How do you plan on using the truck?
Third: How much is your realistic budget?
Fourth: How long do you plan on keeping the truck?

Personally my 06 with 263k miles on it runs great with all stock parts (engine wise) and EFI tuning. It has about 500rwhp on the 5 setting, is controlled on EGT's and will spin the tires.
Can you start changing everything on it, sure. Will it help you reach your goal?

1. Between 5-600
2. Daily driving / horse / Camper towing
3. 12k
4. Forever. I never get rid of vehicles. It's paid off now its time to play.

Assuming you have the 48RE auto trans..... My stock 05 truck, empty, with a smarty tune on a higher power level slipped the stock trans the first (and only) time I floored it to see what would happen. Point being if you will be modding your truck just "refreshing" the trans is not going to cut it. If you are planning on using all the potential of power a stock truck is capable of, or worse yet you are adding performance parts for even higher power levels, then you will be spending very much $$$ on the trans. You can either build the trans for your power goals up front or you can pay to fix it later. Search some of Cerb's posts on the trans for more info.

I spent about 6k on my built Goerend 48RE. Plus plan on traction bars, and some steering upgrades (box brace at minimum). At 150K i would estimate most of the other steering parts are starting to loosen up. And consider good brakes, like EBC to slow it down after you build the power.

Funny you mention the EBC brakes. I just ordered those. It's time for brakes anyway. All my steering is new upfront with the 08 upgrade and carli parts. Just fixing all the leaks as well cam housing and front pinion fixed. Need to do rear main at the same time as transmission. Fuel filter/separator/ lift pump, bag of parts, big line kit and filter delete installed installed. Next is transmission. Then twins, injectors, valve springs and head studs. Should be complete before end of summer. Much rather invest in Old truck then spend 70k on new.*
