does anyone have their 3rd gen smokin like the older trucks? has anyone felt or noticed a difference at the track or on the dyno after installing a pusher pump?

thanks!

I have not been able to make mine smoke, have about 9000 miles. The only time I really saw black smoke at all was when it was dyno'd. Then only when shifting short puffs.

I wish I had a pusher pump.

a couple months ago i was driving north going through atlanta when a third gen flew by me going at least 100 mph. i was doing about 80. it was all black and lifted about 6" or so. the amazing thing was, every time he would hit the throttle, he would fog all four lanes completely with black smoke. don't have a clue what he had in that thing, but i've never seen a truck smoke that bad in my life! it sounded good too! :D :D

with the TST box, i can get a fair amount of smoke from about 3/3 on up. smoke volume increases quickly around 5/5. i keep it to a minimum as to not give diesels a bad name, and at 2. 05/gal, why waste it!!!

Smoke shows are never a waste of diesel! :D

Do you have injectors too?? What turbo? With the TST, EZ and this 40, I get nowhere near that much smoke! What levels are you on?

I am dying to know, What numbers did you lay down when you did that impressive smoke show ?!?!?!?

They have GOT to be some killer numbers

That was TST on 4/4 and EZ on 4. Besides the boxes, I have a Scotty III, and nothing else in the way of performance mods. Unfortunately, I didn't get very good numbers, because the TST's EGT-limited defueling kept kicking in and cutting off the upper end--even when I bumped it all the way up to 1550. Basically, the numbers came out no better than the EZ alone (which doesn't smoke, except at high altitude and high load). Therefore, before finding a better air solution (turbo(s)?), the only advantage the TST seems to have over the EZ alone is selectable smoke (and lower rail pressure if run alone).

Sweet pics and awesome smoke. My truck only smokes when it is cold and at night. I can tell when it does because all of sudden traffic slows down behind me and all I see is a haze of headlights.
