How do you tell what size a turbo housing is

I would like to increase the exhaust CFM capabilities for 300/350hp up from my puny 235 but don't want the feds breathing down my back or the dealer having a cow if shes in for warranty stuff.

Wanting my cake too I don't want to increase the cruise or towing noise level in the cab but more noise on brisk unloaded acceleration would be acceptable.

I think pulling the muffler and leaving the CAT would be too loud, not sure.

I have heard Nelson and Donaldson make quiet ones with more flow but most of the posts talk about systems without CAT's

Any ideas that will keep the CAT?

Gut the cat. It will pass an inspection and won't plug up like most do. My early '94 built in December of '94 never had a cat.

Thats an idea too but I would definitely want a muffler then cuz I like it quiet.

Maybe a good muffler with gutted CAT would be the Nelson 86514 that has a 4" inlet and 5" outlet. Flow & db rating on that muffler look pretty good also.

I would just have to find a 5" tail pipe for it.
