Getting ready to put in a cam in the next month or two. The cam will have the lift pump lobe on it. So I am seriously considering converting to a 12 valve style lift pump. I know it puts out too much pressure out of the box so anyone on here done it and what do I need to look out for. Anyone know of a good regulator w/bypass to use?

Same here. I run it full boar. 45-47pi at idle, 37psi WOT over 70K miles.

I keep waiting fro my VP seals to "rupture". :-laf

By far the best fueling mod I have ever made. I was at 22 psi WOT before the DrawStraw. And then the DrawStraw was born...

My 98 pump makes about 30 PSI most of the time. At WOT it drops to 23-25 PSI.

Is this normal ?

I've had two dif. gauges, and both read the same.

TIA, Ray

Those pressures are fine. Actually, it will run pretty good at lower pressures if the overflow valve is getting bad. When my OF valve failed mine was down to 6 PSI before I got home. It refused to restart at that pressure. A new OF valve from TST makes my pressure at about 30 PSI or a little more at idle. 40 PSI on the road.

Joe G. , thanks for the reply, and also also for your very informative articles on the 12V fuel systems.

Question: What went wrong with your OF valve?

I pulled mine apart, chasing a low boost problem. I think it all looked pretty good, so I streched the spring a little bit, put it back together, and installed.
