I have an 03 4x4 ctd, with the Bullydog Triple DOg. I was looking for more mileage from a module. HAs anyone tried this ROI module? I was planning on trying stacking the BDTD with a module and trying just the module alone to combat the 2. 60-2. 70 gallon fuel prices. I am only getting about 17 mpg at 70 if I am lucky, and am furious. I have Dick Cepek fc 2's 35 12. 50 17's and 3:73's, auto, and just installed a Banks Monster exhaust(single), very nice part btw. Also, removed my silencer ring yesterday, does it hurt mileage or power to remove it? It sounds cool!

I haven't used that Workhorse module, but I have a Quadzilla DXZCRR for 03-04 Cummins that I am selling. It gives 140hp & claims better mileage.

Joking about what? I would like to see 18-19mpg at 70 mph.

17mpg with oversized tires is nothing to complain about, much less be furious over. The best I can get is 18. 5mpg and that's driving 60 down the freeway with speed limit 70. At 70mph I only get 15mpg or so. The longest empty stretch I've ever run was down to OK City a little over a year ago. I set the Juice on 5/1 and kept up with traffic the whole way, 70-75mph. Ended up getting 14. 5mpg over a near 900 mile run of all freeway.

17mpg ain't setting the world on fire, but it ain't bad either.

Well, I am glad I didn't get an Edge box, then. I get around 16. 5 mpg running around 76 mph, but, then again, I have spent a fortune in amsoil throughout, and the other mods. I just added a Banks monster exhaust and am getting around 17. 5 mpg in town. I just don't understand how my dad's 04 six speed with stock tires gets 22 mpg all around and mine won't. His isn't even fully broken in at 60k miles! He has no mods of any kind except for a gutted intake silencer and a true flow filter element.

I have a 01 6 spd. with the 3. 55 rearend and got 22mpg, added the workhorse and now get 26 consistently, better when temp is above 65 degrees.

From what Mr. Dennis Hurst, the Chief Engineer (Top Man) at the Cummins Mid-Range Engine Plant in Columbus, IN. says is, these engines were designed to be most fuel efficient at the 1800-1900 rpm range.

Your larger tires may be hurting your mileage, also. With a lot of stop & go driving, the auto may not be helping, either.

If your Dad's is a 2X4 & yours is a 4X4, that would make a difference, also. Your Dad's driving style can enter into it, too. Sometimes with the performance stuff installed, you have a tendency to want to "play", a bit, & that can consume some extra fuel.

I've gotten as high as 21. 47 mpg, on a trip where I made a serious effort to get the best mileage, possible. Normally, around town, with some freeway driving & an occasional "blast" just to hear the exhaust note, I get around 17 mpg's.

So, Dallyon2, your telling me your getting almost 1000 miles to a tank of fuel. I have owned over 70 Dodge diesel trucks and used every chip on the market(besides the offbrand stuff), and have never seen better 22 mpg. And that was an old 12 valve. Hate to call bull****, but thats not even possible. Unless you are going by your overhead computer. In that case, its pretty easy to get it to read 35-40mpg if you reset it and never let boost get up.

I agree with you guys. Whats he crying about 17mpg. My truck only has 6500 miles and it still gets 11. 2 driving on flat ground with the cruise on and running 67 mph. If i try to drive it faster like 72-75mph it goes down to 10. 3. This is all done by hand calculations. I say be happy with what your getting. It could be worse and you could get the same as mine. :{

My 03 H. O. with 4. 10 rear end and my tst box off will get around 18 to 19 on the freeway at around 75. In town with the box on i can drop down to around 14. The best mileage to date was around 22 mpg at 75 on a long straight drive in new mexico desert, unloaded. I have a friend who has the same truck, who claims to get over 30 on the freeway. I know hes full of $#@!. I really dont see these trucks getting over 20, they are extremely heavy vehicles, It all depends on how heavy your foot is!

I wouldn't call B. S.

Many folks with 03's (including me) have gotten 24 MPG hand calculated (computer shows 25+) at 60-65 mph, do a search and you'll see lots of data.

At 70+ your mileage is going to suck.

I purchased a Workhorse a year ago. They wanted us to distribute them. They would not give me one to try. They called like every day for us to buy a stock order. We bought one and was not impressed. We still have it if anyone wants one. Thanks
