If your talking about the Indy 500 we went last year it was a HUGE disappointment IMO its hard to see anything except a small portion of the track. I think they need to build a new venue but its a BIG nostalgia thing for Indianapolis so thats not going to happen.Actually, Big, real racing is right under your nose right there, I’ll bet nearly every night of the week!
I've been to 5 Brickyard 400's including the inaugural in 1994 and can say it's a terrible place to watch a race. The history and nostalgia make up for that however. I was in awe each time I went.Indy 500
Big, you’re so far off base about grassroots racing, I don’t know where to begin. It’s good that you’re going to a drag strip, but it’s apples and oranges- what I’m talking about.
Luca Oil Drag strip is used EVERY WEEKEND and at least a night or two during the week lots of events that a normal guy can get involved in without taking away from the home montage.
I couldn't tell you the Lucas Oil Drag Strip for as long as we've been here has been just that. Its a really nice place very well ran & organized. The Muncie Dragway (I believe its called) is still there I've drove by it several times on my way to the ethanol plant it Portland, Its a MUCH smaller venue. That Lucas Oil Drag strip is the old IRP (Indianapolis Raceway Park) correct? If so, I've been down that track a time or two in my old 2001 Ram back in the day when they used to have that Tunder in Muncie diesel event.
