I don't think there are any special mods required. depending on which Garrett you are trying to run. I don't about how well a T66 or T88 or T10?? whatever the really big one is flows. The HT line (HT3B, HTB2, HTB1, etc... ) are Garretts and most of them require an o-ring.

All I could say is try it and see.

I know that a friend of mine tried to put a Garrett from a 7. 3 powerchoke on his truck to try for that low rpm whistle they make, and the little Garrett couldn't handle the speed that his 12 valver spun it to with 370's and some governor springs. It came apart the first time he stabbed it.

This was a turbo off a truck with 32,000 miles with shaft play well withing spec.

I run a garret style T 70 , its lag pig but most any 70mm turbo is unless BB but im using a 81 undived housing (around 15 cm) , i could make 37 lbs on the road then i ran out of RPM if u wanted to take it up to 4k then the 81 wouldnt b to bad , im speaking for max power , i have a 68 ar housing now (12cm) but my trucks down for a while getting some updates to help spool things better . And we'll c what this 68 does its alot smaller than the 81 so it should help spool the 66 would spool good with a 68 or 81 , u wouldnt think theres that much difference between the two but there is for spool time and u need about 50lbs to c BIG hp # , O one other thing u need a adaptor from T4 to T3 , or u can purchase a Master power with a T3 style flange 70 ar heres a link http://www.boostedsystems.com/

It should work decent for a 475 HP truck. The DD Jammer II started off as a Q trim T58, so if you can get a hold of one that stayed together, you should be able to slap in a T66 wheel very easily (the turbo was made by Turbonetics).

Just make sure you wastgate the thing to keep it under 40 psi.

oh, if such a turbo existed, my HX40 would get tossed in the poop can!!!

it depends on what u want theres a list of trims there

if u get a turbonetics T66 thats the LBS per min u get

that map u have , whats it ? Precison, Innovative ,master power , garrett ??? the list goes on who makes a 66 mm turbo everybody has there on tweak on what they do,, all dpends on what u want

The only issue I have with the map I posted is that it would surge like a bad dog at 1800 rpm and 30 psi of boost. It would suck to tow with it!!!

True surge is a issue ESP when going bigger than 66 , mine didnt surge untill i nstalled my exhaust ( 3in to a 4 then to a 5 ) one thing to do to is to install a 4 in V band off the turbo it self instead of usen the tiny 3in , i got the HX 40 flange welded to my turbine housing now

That is why I have to chuckle when I see someone post about some new turbo with a big inducer... . then they say it tows great!!!

Either the turbo is a lag pig from the large rotational mass, or it surges like crazy with a small exhaust housing in an attempt to get it to light at a useable RPM.

dieselfreak, i read your article/paper on the sequential turbocharger and the proposed t66/t88 twin setup... did you ever do anything with it? I was just wondering why most people go with a holset for mid upgrades when there are other turbos with differing performance.

I remember a website that had lots of information on a turbos anyone know what it is so I can dream a little.

Hope to get this 01 ETH bombed a bit more. hoping to get 350rwhp, wht is the most cost effective path without sacrificing much reliability.

got a comp, guages and intake, haven't tapped the wire yet... want to get a good baseline. tow about 30% of the time 4-7k. I would like to get some 40-80hp injectors (when the clutch goes out, 130k on original clutch) just not sure where the limits of the stock turbo are and what the general opinion is on just upgrading the housing and compressor wheel to a 58 or 60mm. Many people who post are after tons of power. I enjoy reading about it, but know that I can't afford to play.

suggestions

nope, never did anything with it. All my money currently goes to fund my education.

People go with Holsets and Schwitzers because they are cheap... . and more importantly they (vendors) can hide behind a corporate NDA claimbing that their turbo is the best thing since sliced bread... . and never truely have to prove it with documentation.

A good solid 350 HP can be done very easliy with an ETH. You won't need to tap the wire either.

A HX40, an EZ, and a good set of 80 HP injectors will do it very nicely. But your clutch will be toast.
