Over booked campgrounds

Has anyone any experience with these products and this company? Do they work like they say and do they stand behind their product? I need something for around the split rail fence and around trees in the yard (its a 5 acre yard) the wife drives the tractor with a disc for the big stuff NOT THE YARD and cant get close without crashing the tractor or riping the disc off. My 2stroke weed eater is not going to last long doing it with it, its not made for that size job. thanks for any help. They are DR products

I ordered a Dr Power Grader.

Have not recieved 'er yet.

I expect grader to be easy to operate.

Kinda bought it with my wife in mind as she does not want to run the tractor.

My FiL has one similar to the picture, but I don't know the model. He uses it to clear high grass on property in Washington. It works well. It is a heavy line model, not a blade.

I have a grader so to speak its not a DR and has way more Mule power that what is needed to do my grading. I hook up 2 of the mules and away we go.

AMink

thats kind of what I was looking for a giant weed eater on steroids. Im not going to chop down 3 in saplings like the blade model can do I just want a big time weed whacker for the grass around fence post and the sides of the driveway and around trees.

Im going to town tomorrow and they have a DR dealer and a Toro Pro shop so at least I have some kind of comparison to look at.

Thanks to the both of you

The dealer network out here is a bit skinny and most of them sell other brands who they push more, but the people I know who have DR products are happy with them.

I've been looking into their inertia wood splitter.

Used the field & brush mower a few times--for a heavy string machine it was impressive.

Just got back from a trip to the big town to look at them they seem built tough enough and the one that they demo-ed had plenty of power. It was the string type. That is not a real string its replaceable individual pieces of some kind of very tuff plastic. They are bringing one out to give it a try. Cant beat that if they are willing to drive 60 miles one way they must be pretty sure of their product. And if its good enough I dont have to go back and pick one up just leave that one. He said that it will be new because of that reason. I have just a small test for it:-laf Both side of the driveway please!!!!

BIGNASTY, we have a DR string mower, have used it for well over 10 years in northern California, never had any trouble with it, granted it was the top of the line model at that time, also expensive. Seems they design and field test all of their products before final manufacture, either by them or others. Often one has to be very leery of buying items from a catalog without experience of actual users. The string of string mowers have been greatly improved according to a son, can cut thicker grass with less power owing to design, more aggressive. We also have an 'Outback', well a well thought out machine, that uses a blade. I read somewhere to store the string immersed in water as its less prone to break than if kept dry for a long period. Those pictures are great, wonderful country. (hopefully never paved over).

Thanks for the info on the machines. They are big bucks for a weed eater but its a BIG WEEDEATER. The guy at the store said the same thing about improved string. Its not actually a string like on the regular string trimmers that most people have, But individual pieces of plastic that really dont cost any more than some of the sting that I have bought for the other trimmers. He fired one up and ran it up to a planter that was made with ruff face block and ran up the rpm and left it there for quite awhile while talking to me about it. I was thinking well he'll have to replace the plastic string things and he didn't!!!!!! I cant say that they weren't roughed up a bit but didn't break them off. I promise that I wont pave the driveway. When we came home from the mountains and rode up the drive to the house it was something that the wife and I enjoy we lived in the concrete jungle of CA and we like the natural ways up here. On the down side its a lot of driveway to snowplow (but I like to hook up the mules and yip eeee kiiiii aaaa )
