I'm thinking about installing a front receiver hitch and I was wondering if anyone was using the hitch made by Curt. Curt is the only one that I could find that attaches using the OEM bumper frame holes. All the others seem to attach using the stabilizer frame holes. I have a DSS, which also uses the stabilizer holes, and figured the Curt might be the way to go. Any suggestions, comments.

Thanks,

Bill

I've got a Curt on my '99 and I've been happy with it but I think it hangs down lower than some of the other brands. It's not something I use everyday but when I need it I really like having the front hitch, especially for no more than they cost over the factory tow hooks.

CNeubauer, does the Curt hitch receiver come through the plastic valance below the bumper or does it come out below the valance?

My second choice will be the Drawtite or the Hidden hitch but I'm a little concerned about hanging too much stuff off the stabilizer bolts, (DSS, hitch, stabilizer).

I have front hitches on both trucks (built into bumpers) and they're not nearly as handy as I thought they would be. Good for mounting a clevis for a tow strap, but that's about it.

I've tried backing (pushing) a trailer with it, but you can't see around the trailer at all.

My hitch sits about 2" below the plastic under the bumper so I do loose some ground clearance with it but I've still got several inches more than a comparable truck from GM. If you'd like I can post a picture of it tomorrow.
