best muffler?

I was reading about the Husky liners in the Geno advertisement. I would like to get input from anyone that has them in their truck. How good do the look? Do they wear well? Are they worth the investment? Do they cover the entire carpeted area as illustrated in the advertisement? Does Geno's have the best price?

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have them and think they are great! During hunting season they collect the mud and snow perfectly and all I ever have to do is rinse them off once I get home or pour the snow out onto the ground. On two different occasions my family members have spilled full cans of pop on the front passenger side floor and on both occasions not a drop hit the carpet--just picked up the Husky liner and poured the pop outside onto the ground.

You will not WOW anyone with their appearance--mine are just black with a diamond plate texture to them--but they are incredibly practical for the guy that tracks unwanted mud and snow into his truck. Mine are now almost 4 years old--took them out of my 98 Ram Quadcab and put them into my 2001. They look fine and still clean up nice. My only complaint about them is that at least the driver side mat slides on the carpet a bit--I wish they "stuck" to the underlying carper better.

If you have a manual transmission they do not cover all the carpet in the front. I don't know what they cover with the auto. With a manual transmission they are more similer in size to 2 large rubber floor mats but the carpet on the hump and around the transmission remains exposed--in my experience there is not much dirt there anyway and I have 3 kids ages 12 and under. The back mats cover all of the carpet from the back of the front seat brackets to far underneath the back seat.

If you have that little storage tray under your back seat you may need to snip a small portion of the Husky Liner to get a good fit. I simply placed my liner under the tray and bolted the tray back in but ended up snipping a small piece on the passenger side in order to get the tray bolts to cinch up nicely.

I know nothing about the current prices nor do I remember what I paid for mine. I would not be without the Husky Liners because they fit my needs perfectly. They have been an excellent investment.

Also, in case you didn't know--they come in one or two (or maybe more) colors besides black.

Hope my info/experience helps.

The Husky Liners are well worth it, I also have the black color, but now they come in gray amd tan. I got mine at Cabela's.

Huskey Liners

I've got them in tan to match my interior. I love them my carpet looks brand new and that's with 2 hunting seasons worth. I would recommend them to anyone. Got mine from Cabelas Also.

I'll second the good things said about the Husky Liners. Last hunting season, it was a muddy mess everytime we went. Took forever to clean the outside of the truck, but the inside was a breeze. Just slip the liner out and spray it off, the carpet underneath still looks like new.

Never had any trouble with either of them moving, the fit is awesome. And I too have spilled a large fountain drink in the drivers side mat... . caught every last drop.

Definitely a good item to have... . unless you like carpet cleaning. :D :D :D :D

Works for me

HI Dennis,Rich from Chicago,

I had them in my previous truck. The rear floor was totally covered.

I dont know if they now have coverage over the trans hump.

Many times I dumped them out the door when filled with various liquids. They did not wear through in 5 years. There are two kinds, the HD are rubber with carpet, the liners give more coverage. I think they have nibs on the back to prevent sliding now.

I already have a set ordered for my 2 week old new truck.

husky liner

I bought some several months ago for my 4x4 auto 2001 cub cab. I love them! I got the center trans hump cover also so the whole front floor is covered, the transfercase shifter hole has to be cut out but it is outlined on the mat. If I remember Genos had the best price.

I am happy with mine. I got them in gray to match carpet. Work as advertised. I use them only during winter tyo catch melted snow etc. I got mine with my cold front/ screen front from Cabela's.

I have them as well, would stay away from the black and get the grey if I was to do it again. The black shows everything. Other than that, they work great. Not sure on what Geno's sells them for, but I purchased mine from Cabelas before I knew about Geno's.

Dennis;

Thanks for starting a great thread. Floor liners is one of the next items on my shopping list.

Go figure! I have a Cabela's store less than 30 miles from here and I never remember they sell truck stuff. I always drive to a truck acessory store or farm supply store.

20 years ago my buddy was working in the oil fields and ordered a new Mazda GLC with complete vinyl interior. Open the doors and hose it out.

Had a set in a GM pickup I owned... won't do without them any more. Put them in my Dodge before it had a 500 miles on it. Truck is 3 years young and the carpet is like new.

Also put them in my wife's new Durango. Someone said earlier that the won't win a "looks" contest and they're right... but they work do darn well that it just doesn't matter. My wife really likes the cargo area liner in the Durango.

Got mine from Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops. Wish I'd shopped the Genos site first... can't go wrong with them.

Another agreement... I'll never have another truck again without 'em. I had a set of gray ones in my '96 (matched the gray carpet perfectly).

Then I got the '01 and got black ones to go with the Agate interior. The black is a bit darker and doesn't look quite as sharp, but the whole interior is so dark that I'm the only one that's noticed. :)

I also managed to fit the rear one under the underseat storage. Was a pain, but it worked. 'Course I'll have to remove it when I pull the interior out to line it with that B-Quiet liner I bought a few weeks ago. Then put it all back together again.

Rob

Okay Rob, you have my attention. What's a B-Quiet liner ? I could throw in a MIL joke, but that would be in poor taste :D

Scott W.

There was a thread about it here a number of weeks ago... it's similar to Dynamat, a sound insulator. B-Quiet is a competitor that's like half the price. A bunch of TDR guys I think have bought it to put in their trucks to quiet things down a bit.
