Just wondering if someone with experience with Diesel Dynamics True Torque Power Module (TTPM) could comment on how smooth their engine is.

I've got DD1's and a PE EZ on my ETC/DEE, but I don't like how the engine runs with the EZ at higher RPM's due to the timing advance. From what I've read, the TTPM has less advance and should be smoother than the EZ. The long term plan is to go with DD2's when the clutch wears out.

Also, I tow about 8,000 lbs.

Thanks in advance,

Charles

Well, I had a TTPM until last weekend, when I installed my new Hot Edge Comp box :D I also have DD 3's, so that may also affect how a person perceives the smoothness of the engine at some given RPM. I had the TTPM for about 6 months/9,000 miles or so. I never noticed even the slightest roughness to my Cummins, it has always purrrrred like a giant kitty :D

I have thought I notice the Comp box makes the engine have a different sound, but it may just be my imagination. If it doesn't rain this weekend at the drag strip, I'll see what the SOTP meter tells me the difference is

Your results may vary

I've had one for 3 months now and like it. I did a 300 mile trip to check mileage on different settings, and here's my results. Setting #1 added about . 5 mpg, setting #3 added 1. 3. It seems that the added fuel at 3 psi allowed for a smaller throttle opening and more usable power. I have no idea how your ETC will react, but I'm happy.

Thanks for the info guys. I did a search and found lots of info about the TTPM. It seems TTPM has less advance and is designed to work with the DD injectors. Lawrence is a pretty picky guy and knows his stuff.

I have the TTPM and have no complaints at all. I just adjusted the settings from 3psi to 20 psi for the fueling. It was pretty interesting getting going in the wet and with winter on way I decided not to take any chances. I'm sure you will be happy with the TTPM.

I've had the DDTT Box for about 9 months / 37000 miles. No idle problems, smooth power delivery. I chose it because of the "reduced fueling" 'till 20 psi boost & at the time I knew I was going to do the mods & "Get The Power". I picked up about 1-1. 5 mpg before I installed the larger injectors. When those went in I now have settled in to averaging 17. 5 -18. 5 hwy @ 75-80 mph & about 16. 5-17 around town. I would Buy again.

I have had the DD TTPM for at least seven months now (the DD3s for about a year)... . most of the time set to the 20 psi setting... until recently. Several weeks ago I changed the setting to the 3 psi setting. I tried it before for a day or two but wasn't really pleased with the smoke. After installing my Piers (PDR) Super Turbo the smoke was reduced significantly so I went back to the 3 psi setting.

..... in a word, AWESOME!

What can i say but AWESOME, have had it on for 10 months, no problems truck runs great, 19 city/ 24 hwy,DD2's on the work bench, DTT TC VB go in the 28th, let the smoke begin. :D :D
