Was wondering about the new 6" exhaust system from BullyDog. Is it a turbo back system? It's got to be an improvement over the stock '03 exhaust (minus the muffler).

From what I have read, here on this site, unless You have a high horsepower (500hp. +), a 4" exhaust system is enough. My understanding is, if You go with a 5" or 6", You will actually lose some power. Aparently, bigger isn't always better. There are people here a lot more knowledgeable than me that may want to verify this information. Joe F. (Buffalo).

TST actually told me I would have no advantage with the 4" over the stock 2003 system. Many people have stated that the 5" gives less performance than the 4". Can't imagine what a 6" could possibly do for anyone running less than a thousand hp.

i noticed no power loss when i went from stock to BD's 5" system. turbo seems to spool quicker. sounds good. i've never tried a 4" system on mine, so i don't know if it will gain/loose any power. i think 6" is getting to the point of being over kill... them 6" tips some guys have look massive

If you put a set of big tires on a 3rd gen, it makes the stock system (4" on a 04. 5-05) look small.

So a 5" is a must :D .

If it looks cool on the truck is must add horsepower.

I could probably fit a good portion of my head in a 6" so i think that might be a bit too much

I feel sorry for your wife! :-laf Sorry, I couldn't resist. It was almost too easy. Feel free to flame me. I know I deserve it for that! :-laf :-laf

I'm not real sure how you could lose power with a larger exhaust. My main question is... . is the 6" a full turbo back system? The way I understand it, the more air you can put into an engine the more power you can make. With a few intake mods and a 6" exhaust you should be able to make power and not lose it. Wonder what it would sound like with a torque tube?

4" downpipe then the rest is 6 inch

I dont see how you could lose power on a turbo charged engine with bigger exhaust bullydog recommends that you use this for over 500hp and 6 inch is so expensive because it cost alot to bend to purchase raw material to make the system. It is a turbo back I have ordered one to check it out to sell I also have bd 5 inch systems.

The common rail injection trucks do run hotter stock than 2nd gen so with alot of mods six inch might just benefit you
