anyone w/ van aaken c-5 smart box?

hi cummins nation!,does any body have user info on c-5?base cost?-option1,2, and 3 power & cost?how easy to down load? and the term"custom tune" how do i tell van aaken what and how to prograhm for my truck and mods i've made?---sorry so many questions,but..... ,--thank all LEE

I have the c5 box but do not get it as they have went out of business. As of this time they have not completed the download software. I am in contact with a couple of people that say that they know someone still working on it though. The box seems to work ok with a few glitches.

I had one, I was waiting on the custom tune for months, and sent it back, took me forever to get the refund.

I wasnt aware that they went out of business, that is news to me.

I think there are other, better chips/programmers out there

redmega06 &munderwood thank you for the posts. i havent recived it from a seller(mass diesel the middle man) but i dont know what to think of these latest news is it anoyher manufactuar or van aaken out of buss? or just the prod line? goto go thanks again---LEE

Don't even think about buying anything from VA until we all see where that company is headed. word has it that the USA offices are closed. There are too many other solid choices on the marketplace to put your money toward Van Akken. In my opinion VA not only dropped the ball on the C5 they nuke-fried the poor SOB.

I have one that was custom tuned by a VA tech for a truck essentially identical to mine. I can't run it in my truck without issues.

There are a couple of people with the cable and the software but something is missing still to be able to tune.

IF we can ever get these things tuned we might have something great but until that happens all "I" have is an expensive paperweight.

If you don't already have one don't buy one!
