wash co fair truck pulls

I am getting a replacement for Injector pump for my 98 12V this week. I almost have the old pump off (1 15mm nut is impossible to reach  ) The new pump is ready to bolt on with timing locked... I just need to set the engine at TDC and get the new one on. I really would love to have someone looking over my shoulders or helping out. If anyone is willing, I'd trade a case of beer for an hour or two of your supervision ;)

Why are you trading pumps?? Use a good swivel, extension, and some grease that will get the nut on and off. Once you pull the old pump off it is easy to set the engine at TDC. There is a timing pin that goes into the back side of the cam gear. I always take the timing pin assembly out, visually see the hole in the cam gear, then make sure the timing pin goes back in. Mark the harmonic balancer, pull the timing pin out of the gear. Put the pump on and go.

The old pump had a shim drop inside undetected till it bent a govenor spring stud... This is a rebuilt 215 thats been modded by Marty at Precision Diesel that i got for a good price... I tried an array of swivles and extensions but my craftsman setup isnt doing it. I think I'll have to track down a Snap-On guy for a nice ball swivel. I'd still love a hand though I just dont want to mess anything up... again... .

YOu could try to put a piece of hose over your swivel that might hold it in position. DO you want to sell your old pump?? PM me if you do and we can discuss.

Looks like the pump will be here Friday so anyone free this weekend?? :) You can check out my whole veggy and biodiesel operation!!
