5 stars from me on this book. If anyone likes technical descriptions of space vehicles, I highly recommend this book, called "Virtual Apollo: A Pictorial Essay of the Engineering and Construction of the Apollo Command and Service Modules", by Scott P Sullivan (Apogee Books).
It is 128 pages of CAD drawings, inside and out of the Apollo CM and SM vehicles, including engine locations, fuel tank locations, location of every switch in them, storage, materials it's made of, etc, etc.
One interesting fact I learned is the Command Module used only 2000 watts of electricity, about the same amount required by a household electric oven.
Another is this: "The tanks that hold the cryogenic liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen on the SM come close to being the only leak-free vessels ever built. If an automobile tire leaked at the same rate as these tanks, it would take 32,400 years to go flat. "
I have tons of hobbies, and space travel and rocketry is one that was sparked again by the thread about man's first moon landing being a hoax.
I bought this book and it's the best $19. 95 I ever spent (as far as books go). I got it at Border's book store though Amazon, etc. may have it too.
Enjoy!
Nick
