Taking my 1st towing trip.

My money is on the EGR, now that there is a special way to test them other than pressure testing. Sorry it had to be your truck this happened to, at least we will all learn something from your experiences. You have been the leader on the C&C since you were the first to post detailed information so the rest of us would feel comfortable about our purchase. I hope the dealer that is working on it now is not same that flashed your ECM. Dodge should take into account that your experiences sold them a lot of trucks and fix it for free, I know it was just a thought. EB if your ever in So. Cal. give me a call and dinner is on me, then I could thank you in person for helping me in deciding on the C&C. :)

Thanks, you have a pm.

As of right now the problem is solved. It was the EGR cooler. A new one was sent down and installed and it solved the problem. I don't know why the pressure test that was done on the old one didn't show any leaks, the radiator shop says it didn't leak, but the new one fixed it. We need to find out what type of test needs to be done to check those things so it can be done right. The dealership service dept. told me to take the truck and work it over the weekend and when I find time come in next week and we will work out the bill. The service writer has assured me that they will make it right. I pulled the trailer on about a 75 mile test drive this afternoon and the temps were normal and there was no coolant overflowing into the overflow tank. It was almost 90 degrees here this afternoon and pulling the trailer up and down what few hills we have around here it barely got to 200 degrees which is normal. When we settle the bill next week I'll let everyone know how it was done.

Now I can go back to work.

EB, glad to hear that things are going in the right direction, especially in regards to the surplus money you ended up putting out.

EB,

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry you had the bad luck to be first but it appears you will always lead the pack due to early purchase of the first cab and chassis and the miles you run. You will probably save the rest of us some heartache and expense by passing down you experiences.
