As I posted earlier, I ordered a PowerBook G4 last week.



Today, I found out that they have just come out with a new, improved PowerBook with faster processors, faster SuperDrive, and a bunch of other improvements.



Apple sends me an email today telling me that they have taken the liberty of giving me the NEWER model for free. Not only that, but it it won't take any longer to get here!



The best part? The new, improved version is costing me $450 less!!!



WAY TO GO, APPLE COMPUTER.



I'm really hoping I like this machine.

My wife works for Apple. The company does seem to care more about people more than most. If you have had Apple stock for more than 1 year, you really have something to be excited about! Its more then quadroopled (sp) in the last year!

That's funny. My girlfriend called Apple regarding technical support for her Ipod. They wanted her to pay them $50 bucks a month for two calls per month into tech support. Then, if she sent it in, and could not find the problem, they would charge her $100 flat rate just for looking at it.

I take it your girlfriend did not get the $59 Apple Care warranty. I know it seems outrageous to purchase an extended warranty, but with these portable appliances, it is recommended. I won't buy any Mac portable without the extended warranty (Apple Care). My Mac desktops, I don't worry about.



Apple is pretty goofy when it comes to repairs if you don't have their Apple Care. It is worth it, they handle all of the overnight shipping, and turn around has been 3 days in both of my cases when I lost the logic board in my iBook. It has paid for itself already in overnight shipping fees. If the logic board goes out again, I get a new iBook on Apple. I hope that thing goes tits up soon, it is getting a little long in the tooth at 600mhz, but works like a champ.



So what happened with her iPod, did it ever get fixed?
