So out of curiosity, I wonder if the Amsoil filters and bypass systems are ok to use? I sure haven't had any problems after 14k, but I sure don't want to have a filter destroy my engine...

Any body have any idea?

Thanks

Kev

Yes, the Amsoil full flow- and by-pass filters are safe to use.

I doubt DC even heard of them, and if they did, I doubt they would have put them on the list.

What do they care about a small oil company that they do not deal with?

Amsoil has a warranty that will cover their filters. You will not have any problems with them.

Besides, even if you use an AC filter, and it fails, DC will still make AC pay for it. On the list or not.

Aftermarket suppliers are responsible for their products.

From what I have read out here, Fram has paid for failed engines.

Besides Fram and the Fleetgard Microglass failing on the 24 valves, has anyone heard of any other filter failing?

I cant believe the ignorance of most people, every I know thinks Fram is the greatest filter ever made. I stopped using them 5 yrs ago, when i had one split at startup after the oil change. it spewed 4 quarts of oil,by the time I could turn off the key.

Just to keep this short and sweet. . but FRAM has come out with a new filter to remedy this problem. It has the same part number followed by an A. I have the TSB from DC and the bulletin from Allied Signal. I use Frams all day long and have had NO trouble for many years and change many Cummins oil everyday.

Allied Signal can make the NEW Fram better, improved, gold-plated, super-charged, or even free... ... ...

From past experience I still remember the P. O. S. Fram that failed on my old '90 GASSER. I'll keep running the Stratopore that I get from Cummins.

I wouldn't trust a Fram on my 5 year old lawnmower.

Where did you find this bulletin? None of my sources have been able to provide any information, and we have been searching for this since I first heard of it on an earlier thread.

I would like to get a full version of this bulletin, with the reference numbers, so I can post it. It almost fits the format of a TSB or warranty bulletin, but lacks certain key parts.
