Sorry to be posting so much, but I bought this '02 and had a dead pedal incident. I pulled over and did the code trick with the key and got a P0121 code, which from the handy dandy list posted here, I found: Signal Voltage Too Low

APPS voltage input below the minimum acceptable

voltage.

Looks like someone cut and reran the APPS ground, ran a new blue wire to the ECM, then ran a new wire from the ECM to the computer(?) on the firewall behind the air cleaner, with an inline RF filter. I've read where the APPS can have a problem with RF noise. Even still, I got the dead pedal and the P0121 code.

Took off the throttle cable cover and found this:

First, a little more background... it turned out this truck had an Edge Comp on it, no guages, and had had some sort of electrical issue in the past.

After I got the truck, I removed the Comp, which wasn't working, and got codes relating to the MAP sensor, the APPS, and the 0216 IP code. I took it to the local DC dealer and they said a lot of the codes were 'soft' codes, codes that had been generated some time ago and never cleared or codes that had been generated due to malfunctioning MAP sensor. We'll see what happens after the sensor is replaced. He said that the electrical fix done to the APPS was fine with them, warranty-wise, as it wouldn't affect any of the still-warrantied portion of the engine.

Item of interest, I removed and cleaned all the battery cables, clamps, and posts, and all APPS codes went away. Removed, cleaned, and replaced the the MAP sensor, but I still get those codes. Runs like a champ, though

There was also a replacement cable run from alternator to the under hood fuse box. I don't know why; the original has perfect continuity and no ground fault  ... I'll hook it back up stock when I find the time.

One thing I have learned from these forums... follow the order of upgrades. Gauges first, no power mods w/o gauges. X-monitor goes in this week. Then I'll do something with the lift pump.
