I just got home with my new APPS and the bracket is missing a hole for the kickdown cable I believe. Is the auto and manual the same electronics with just a different bracket. I can cut a hole in new bracket to accept cable or I could take the "factory calibrated electronics" off and the new bracket and put onto the old bracket. I really dont want to mess with the electronics if I dont have to. Thanks for your help in advance.

Sorry I can't be of much help other than to say I wouldn't cut anything without making sure it's the right part. Is it new, did you get it from dealer, if so - did they use your VIN to make sure you got the right one? Sorry to answer your question with a question.

If you got it at a dealer, or not, I'd call wherever it was and ask them how it's supposed to work if theres no hole for the kick down?

Joe, thanks for the reply. I have decided that if they are going to charge that much money for it that it has to be right. I do believe that the only difference is the bracket and not the switch itself after doing some more research on it. I cant believe that they just wont sell the switch seperate instead of having to buy the whole bell crank assembly.

What is APPS? All of these acronyms give me a pain.

APPS is one of the technical references for the electric throttle position sensor on the newer electronic controlled engines.

There is a difference between auto and manual brackets.

Just take your APPS off the bracket and mount it to your existing bracket. . I did that on my 01' and didn't have any problems. . Just make sure the sensor is mounted on the bracket in the SAME EXACT PLACE that the old one was.

Oh yea-- for the guy that doesn't know what it stands for=

Sensor

My new one will be here tomorrow and I also ordered a new IAT and MAP sensors while I was at it. The kicker is that the auto one was $ 30 dollars more.
