I have had this problem on and off for several months. converter clutch locking and unlocking. first did the disconnect batterys over night. did the go pedal slowly to the metal and back. would be ok for sometime then come back. ordered a filter from dtt. helped for several months. it started again a week ago. ordered a new apps. after getting 0122 code. installed new unit did the go pedal thing again. checked for codes no codes . test drive problem still there. removed the ECM clean the mounting points on the block, and ECM. cleaned 50 pin connector with contact cleaner. reinstalled with silocone grease. test drive same problem. I have disconnected the batteries again for overnight and will do the go pedal thing again in the morning. any more ideas . thanks in advance for your help. :{ :{

Some have suggested running a different wire from the APPS to the PCM. I don't have the details on this but maybe someone will help with specifics.

I have been fighting the same thing for about a year now. Tried all of the same remedies that you have tried, including checking all of the grounds that I could find on the truck. All of the things I have tried seem to work for about 2 months or so and the problems come back. Just recently I got my DTT filter and the problems have once again gone away... for how long I don't know. I did put a jumper wire from the APPS sensor to the ECM a while back to see if that would help... and it did... for about 2 months. I do believe that it is related to electrical "noise" or "spikes" between the sensor and ECM. I was ready to sell my truck over this because of the frustration it is to drive. The DTT filter seems to be doing the trick right now. If it does come back, I will replace the batteries since they are the main grounding point and have heard that some have fixed their issues after doing so. I wish I had better answers for you, but hope that something helps!
