2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission APPS procedure after battery replacement?

My truck has had no batteries in it for 3 weeks. Just bought new batteries. What is it that needs to be reset in this scenario? I think it is the APPS, but not sure... maybe I don't even have one with my manual trans??? Something about pushing accel pedal to floor then let off slowly... But I need to know the details.

Not much to do. Key on (don't start), push the pedal slowly to the floor and slowly release. That's it.

I thought I read somewhere that if there was no battery power for an extended time, the computer would need to re-learn the limits of the position sensor.
